Next Up, A First Meet With Friends
After a pretty successful maiden voyage to Carsington Water in Derbyshire, we were off on our next adventure, a double header, just one week later.
A working travel diary about our adventures & leaving the rat race
behind to work wherever & whenever we choose.
(well, that’s the idea!)
We like to travel! Trouble is we don’t get as much time as we’d like. Les being a busy Mum & Grandma and – as for the past 20yrs or so – works for the NHS. As for me well, I’ve run my own design business working online, since 1999. When we do travel, its usually on an aeroplane.
The COVID-19 pandemic has changed all that…. a lot.
Since my own job allows me to work remotely, Covid-19 had very little impact on my day to day work-life. I guess that makes me lucky when it comes to what I do. But I’ve come to appreciate, more than ever, that not only do I needn’t be stuck in my office building or even my home office, I can be anywhere in the world and carry on with my work regardless. That’s a nice position to be. I just hadn’t realised how much until Covid hit the world.
My right arm for nearly 30yrs. A brilliant Mum to our kids & Grandma to 5 (and counting) grandkids. A hardworking, much loved wonder-woman, we affectionally refer to as ‘Minion’ who not only works for the NHS but is the glue to that keeps the family together. Les’s passions are travel, reading, Gin, dancing and her family, not necessarily in that order!
Les plans to take early retirement in the spring of 2022 when our travel plans will hopefully take full flight. Did I mention she also beautiful?!
We have always wanted to visit more of the UK – especially it’s stunning coastline. A few years ago we courted the idea of a static home in Wales. You can read about that here – but since we moved away from that idea and onto that of a mobile home where we could go anywhere, anytime… well, almost.
Now we plan to make that step and while I continue to work from wherever the road takes us, Les will be able to relax with a good book a with a G&T, and I’ll be enjoying a new way of a mobile working for a few years.
This blog will hopefully let you come along for the ride and share our adventures with us.
Kev & Les

After a pretty successful maiden voyage to Carsington Water in Derbyshire, we were off on our next adventure, a double header, just one week later.

We looked around for somewhere fairly close by to take our first steps staying for a few nights and decided on exploring Carsington Water Reservoir in Derbyshire.

Here we go through the process of finding and actually buying our first motorhome through a broker service.

There is no doubt, the Covid pandemic has a lot to answer for. Obviously far more serious issues than that

Well, here’s us thinking we’ve got this down to two choices of preferred motorhome (as per the previous post) but

We have been researching, talking to current owners, looking and travelling to dealers around the Midlands for some time now.

We first began considering a motorhome in 2019 after we had travelled to view a static home (in North Wales)
